After 41 years in law enforcement — 37 of them with the Glenview Police Department — the retired police officer is the author of a mystery police novel, 'Blood on the Badge.' The book is set in the fictional town of Greenfield, Illinois where two police officers have died. One was hit by a car during a traffic stop; another drowned while on vacation. Former Navy SEAL and rookie Police Officer Matt O'Neal makes it his mission to find the driver who killed the police officer, who was his best friend, and to uncover how and why the other officer drowned.
